This Privacy Policy describes how Emma (“Emma,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our websites (including https://emma-ai.video), web application (https://app.emma-ai.video), application programming interface and related backend services (https://api.emma-ai.video), Adobe Premiere Pro extension (“Plugin”), optional desktop applications we make available for download, and related features (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories, depending on how you use the Services:

• Account and authentication data. If you create or access an account (for example through Google sign-in), we may process identifiers such as your email address, name or display name as provided by the identity provider, profile identifiers, and authentication tokens needed to maintain your session.
• Subscription and billing data. If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor (for example, Paddle) collects and processes payment information. We typically receive limited billing metadata (such as subscription status, plan identifiers, and transaction references) rather than your full card details.
• Device and application identifiers. When you use the Plugin or certain clients, we may assign or receive a machine or device identifier to associate usage with your installation, provide quota and security controls, and deliver features that depend on knowing which device made a request.
• Content you submit for processing. To provide AI-assisted editing and related features, you may upload or transmit video, audio, image, project-related metadata, transcripts, timelines, and similar materials (“Content”). Content may be stored in our cloud environment and processed by automated systems.
• Prompts and instructions. Text prompts, parameters, and similar inputs you submit are used to operate the Services, including sending requests to third-party AI providers as described below.
• Generated outputs. We may store outputs produced for you (for example, generated scripts, edits, or analysis results) as needed to deliver the Services, provide support, and improve reliability.
• Technical and usage data. We collect logs and diagnostics such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, user agent, timestamps, error reports, API request metadata, performance metrics, and security signals. We may use databases and log storage (for example, relational databases and document stores) for operations, abuse prevention, and debugging.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
• Authenticate users, prevent fraud, enforce quotas and acceptable use, and protect security;
• Process Content and prompts through our systems and third-party AI and media-processing services;
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
• Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements;
• Analyze usage in aggregated or de-identified form to understand product performance.

4. AI providers and other service providers

We use third-party infrastructure and AI vendors to host and process data. Depending on the feature, this may include cloud hosting and object storage, message queues, media analysis and transcription services, and large language model providers. These vendors process data on our behalf to perform the Services.

Prompts and Content may be transmitted to third-party AI APIs so those providers can generate responses or perform analysis. We do not control those providers’ independent privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

• Service providers. With vendors that host data, process payments, send email, provide analytics, or otherwise help us operate the Services, subject to confidentiality and security obligations.
• AI and media-processing providers. As needed to perform automated processing you request.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Emma, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

We do not share your email address or other private account details with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Content uploaded for cloud analysis is retained for a limited period needed to complete processing, provide the feature, and operate backups and disaster recovery, and is deleted on a regular schedule thereafter. Some technical logs and account records may be kept longer for security, billing, tax, and legal compliance.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact privacy@emma-ai.video. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Third-party links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
